Five records that make a funding decision easier

You do not need audited accounts to show how your business performs. Five simple records tell most of the story.

1. A sales book

Daily or weekly sales totals show how much the business earns and how steady that income is.

2. Supplier receipts

Receipts show what you buy, how often and from whom, which is the clearest sign of an active business.

3. Mobile money statements

Many payments now move through mobile money. Statements give an independent record of money coming in and going out.

4. Stock counts

A regular count of what is on the shelf shows how quickly stock turns over and how much working capital you really need.

5. A list of regular customers

Repeat customers are a sign of a business people trust, and of sales you can count on.
