Our vision is an Africa where no viable business ever fails for lack of capital. Our mission is to make business financing instant, accessible and data-driven for the entrepreneurs traditional lenders overlook.
This report explains who we fund, why we chose them, and how we check that our credit is helping.
Small and medium enterprises
Most SMEs we meet are profitable but short of cash at the moment it matters: when stock runs low or a large order comes in. Credit at the point of purchase lets them keep trading without waiting for last week's sales to clear.
Women-owned businesses
Many women run busy stalls and shops without the property or payslips a bank asks for. We look at how the business trades instead, so the decision rests on the business itself.
Agri-value chains and last-mile distributors
Agro-dealers, aggregators and distributors keep seed, fertiliser and everyday goods moving to towns and farms. When they are funded on time, the whole chain behind them keeps moving.
Local job creators
Businesses that grow take on staff, and money earned locally is spent locally. Growth capital for these owners supports employment well beyond the business we fund.
How we track it
For each group we follow a small set of measures over time, such as repeat borrowing, order sizes and business growth, and we publish what we learn in our impact reports.
